| I was sent to Raleigh, N.C. June 5, 1964, for testing to see if I was "smart enough" to enter the Army. After the test and physicals, everyone sat in a large waiting room to see if we would be excepted. I got called into an office were I talked to an officer. He started giving me the great spill that I had done better than anyone had ever done on their test (ha, ha) and I was going to OCS. I told hem I was not interested in being an officer. "I had no desire to be a young know it all like the ones I had seen there." Being a Major, he got all pissed off about that then wanted to know just what the hell I wanted to do? I told hem, "I wanted to go into electronics". He informed me he had the best electronics school, know as the Army Security Agency, BUT, I would have to sign up for one more year to get into it. | ||||||
